Ei almost showed her own grin as the one the shadow slid from her face, leaving her looking more confused than anything. The way Ei spoke, like a woman ready to kill, like someone willing to throw away all principles, made the shadow hesitate momentarily. “Better than what you did,” Ei retorted, taking a step forward to face her mirrored reflection, “When I took your deal I was desperate, but let’s not forget who holds the controlling majority here.” “Had I not stood in, what would you have done? Let her trample over you once more?” “She had a name,” Ei spat but was only ignored as the shadow continued. The mirror image tilted her head, “Oh?” the smile returned then, “I recall you wanting to beat the answers out of the fox yourself– “Whatever deal we had did not constitute the use of my body without my permission, especially to terrorize my friend!”įor the first time in a while, Ei was livid. One that wore a high-end ball gown in place of her usual clothes, who wore gold irises instead of Ei’s usual violet, and one who wore a smirk that was only intended for cruel and despicable purposes. Out from the fog stepped Ei, or rather, a false reflection of Ei, one that carried herself in a way that she never had. “My, my, my, is little Ei breaking our pact already?” She wasn’t incompetent, not in the least, even if speaking to a seemingly empty space would make her look like that.Īnyone that thought she was insane would have been proven wrong moments later when the fog began to bend and twist. When Ei spoke, it was seemingly to the vast empty space around her, nothing but a stone floor and an infinite fog to fill the area. “You can come out now, there’s no use hiding yourself anymore.” While Yae spoke with Makoto, Ei was doing some talking of her own. Instead of sitting, or shaking, she was now standing upon the water surrounding the small island of grass, facing away from them, and looking at absolutely nothing. Her eyes drifted over to the spot where Ei had previously been, before drifting off to where she had moved to while they hadn’t been looking. “Ei, right?” Yae said, cutting her off, and speaking of the purplette…
“Sorry,” she apologized, “You just remind me a lot of–” Her promise became even more enticing when Makoto began to chuckle lightly, which Yae noticed even though she was trying to hide it behind her hand. Yae swore, and she rarely did so for herself, that if one more person spoke with vague wording and gestures, she was going to commit multiple crimes, including, but not limited to: murder, and arson. Makoto shrugged, seemingly non-caring, “That’s to be expected, the fact that you’re here in the first place is a mistake in its own right.”
